About Tenant Coffee
A research-first site for apartment renters who want café-quality coffee in a small kitchen — run by a renter, with the hands-on limits stated on the page.
Who this site is for
An apartment renter in a 250–500 sq ft kitchen who wants café-quality coffee at home without giving up counter space they may lose at the end of a lease. You have some disposable income for gear, but you are not a coffee professional and you do not want to become one. You want a real recommendation, not a 4,000-word roundup.
Why I cover this topic
I cover small-kitchen coffee because I live it. The kitchen in my last three apartments has been a galley, an L-shape, and a counter-that-is-also-the-dining-table, and the coffee gear I have owned has had to survive all three. Most coffee sites are written for people with more counter than they know what to do with, and most “best of” roundups recommend gear that would not fit in a real apartment kitchen.
The site is also a deliberate test of a different method: research-driven articles with source packets, hands-on limits stated on the page, no invented quotes or ratings, and affiliate links as a transparent revenue source rather than the whole reason the page exists. The kit’s premise is that this method is sustainable for a one-person site at 5 hours a week, and this site is the proof of concept.
Who I am
Demo Author · Apartment renter, sample city (replace on launch)
I am a renter, a coffee drinker, and the site’s only writer. I am not a barista, not a coffee professional, and not a technician. I have not worked in a coffee shop, do not hold an SCA credential, and do not repair espresso machines. Articles on this site are research-driven unless the page explicitly says otherwise; a hands-on review says so on the page.
I write this site at 5 hours a week, with the kit’s source-packet method as the constraint that keeps the writing honest and the pace sustainable.
What I will not claim
- I will not claim hands-on testing of a product I have not personally lived with. If a product is research-driven, the article says so on the page.
- I will not invent quotes, ratings, testimonials, or “years of experience” framing. I am a renter and a writer, not a brand.
- I will not publish income claims as fact, and I will not paste a fake “results” screenshot. If I write about the math of affiliate revenue, I will label it as an assumption.
- I will not answer questions that need a barista’s, a technician’s, or an electrician’s credentialed opinion. Those are pointed to a professional.
- I will not use manufactured urgency, fake scarcity, or fake regret stories. There is no countdown timer on this site; there will never be one.
How this site makes money
Tenant Coffee is reader-supported. When a reader uses one of our affiliate links to make a purchase, the merchant pays us a small commission. That revenue pays for the domain, the time to research articles, and the occasional bag of beans. It does not change the price the reader pays, and it does not change which products we recommend — recommendations are made on the merits, in line with our editorial policy.
Full details are on the affiliate disclosure page. The rules we follow when writing are on the editorial policy page.
