Program-required wording
Where a program requires its own disclosure sentence (Amazon Associates is the most common example), that sentence is added next to the plain-language sentence above — never instead of it. On this demo run, the site is not approved for Amazon or any other program, so no program-specific sentence appears yet. When the buyer is approved for Amazon Associates, the required sentence ("As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases." — sample wording, verify on the day of approval) is added to this page and to any article that contains an Amazon affiliate link.
What this site does and does not do
This site does: write research-driven orientation pages; cite primary sources; state limits on every page; re-check program terms on the date the buyer acts; correct errors quickly when readers report them.
This site does not: claim hands-on testing of products it has not tested; use star ratings invented for the article; use testimonials from people who are not real; accept paid placements or sponsored reviews; bid on brand names in paid search; promise income or earnings; route safety-critical questions to itself instead of to local rangers or guide services.
How to report an error
If a product spec, price, or recommendation is wrong or out of date, please send the page URL and the correct information to the email on the about page. The site will fix it and update this page's date stamps.
